Lovesong Coffee Bar
Lovesong Coffee Bar is an extension of Lovesong Bistro. Same farm. Same kitchen values. Scaled for a quick weekday lunch.
We bring the bistro's farm-sourced ingredients into a simple daytime format — salads, soups, sandwiches, and snacks prepared fresh each morning. The menu rotates weekly around what's coming off the farm and what's in season in Alberta.
Walk in, or order ahead for pickup. Lunch runs 11 to 2, Monday through Friday.
The Farm
Lovesong operates its own farm, supplying the bistro and the coffee bar with seasonal vegetables, herbs, and produce throughout the year. What we can't grow ourselves, we source from Alberta producers we know and trust.
The short menu isn't a limitation — it's the point. We'd rather serve six things we believe in than sixty things we don't.
If you want the full expression of that philosophy, come to the bistro Thursday through Monday. The coffee bar is the weekday version.
The Building
Rene LeMarchand arrived in Edmonton from Paris in 1905 — a retired butler who inherited enough from a deceased nobleman to start over. He chose Edmonton and built what he intended to be the most modern and luxurious apartment building in Canada. Beaux-Arts style, red brick, sandstone detailing, marble lobby floors, oak panelling, brass fixtures, and one of the city's first elevators. Construction began in 1909. He died in 1921. The building is still standing. It's a provincially designated historic resource now, and we're glad to be in it.
